No — the dual-length bristle field exists specifically so you're not exfoliating with the same intensity everywhere. Longer fins do the general cleansing pass; shorter textured nodules handle fine exfoliation only where you press harder. Most users find it gentler than a stiff loofah, not harsher.
Two structural reasons: silicone is non-porous, so residue and dead skin can't soak into the material the way they do into plant fiber. And the open cyclone geometry has no enclosed pockets for water to sit in — it drains and air-dries fast instead of staying damp for days.
Rinse after every use and hang it by the built-in loop to fully air-dry. For a deeper clean every few weeks, silicone can handle a quick submersion in hot water — something a fiber loofah can't do without falling apart.
It's molded as a single silicone piece — the fins aren't individually glued or woven in, so there's nothing to shed or come loose the way loofah fiber does over time. That's the core of what's patent pending.
